Usha Society was founded with the vision to enrich the city of Dehradun by establishing an institution of higher education that would impart quality education and build vocational skills among future teachers. At Nalanda Gyan Jyoti School, our foundation rests on the vision and commitment of a seasoned leadership team devoted to transformative education. Supported by the esteemed Usha Society for Human Affairs—also the guiding force behind Nalanda College of Education—our school is driven by academic professionals who champion excellence in early and primary learning.

We envision a nurturing environment where the Indian Knowledge System, Montessori principles, and contemporary global demands converge seamlessly. Drawing inspiration from India’s enduring traditions of inquiry, reflection, and holistic growth, our Montessori-aligned, experiential approach honors each child’s uniqueness, curiosity, and developmental rhythm.

Our goal is to cultivate learners who are:

  • Independent and intrinsically motivated
  • Emotionally resilient and ethically conscious
  • Skilled, confident, and globally attuned

We believe true education empowers children to think freely, act with integrity, and evolve into compassionate changemakers—embracing innovation while staying rooted in Indian values.
